50s style black felt skirt with painted vertical gold stripes. High fitted waist with metal YKK zip and two small shank buttons to fasten. Full circle sweep. Lovely warm wool felt, so perfect for autumn/winter, and just looks so elegant on. No makers labels.
As for dating, this is a bit of a mystery. Looking at it I was convinced it was original 50s but inspecting it internally, I think it may actually be a really well done repro, it looks incredibly authentic down to the fabric and painted gold stripes, but the zipper is a modern metal YKK zip and the buttons also look more contemporary and there is some overlocking to the waistband seam and inside zipper placket. However when worn, you truly can't tell, it looks just like vintage.
