Lovely 50s party dress in a cornflower blue taffeta with white floral flocking pattern - reminds me of antique china. Fitted bodice with diagonal underbust seams with small gathers and a deep v-neck. Fitted waist with waist panels sewn on the bias and meeting in a centre front seam. Matching waist belt with covered buckle to cinch the silhouette in. Full skirt sewn in wide pleats. Back metal zipper to fasten. No label.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.SIZE
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like an XS-S. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model: as shown, on the snug side
Shoulder to underbust: approx 11-12" (has a diagonal seamed bust)
Shoulder to waist: 16" (bodice waist is bias cut so this may shorten slightly as it stretches, fit me approx like 15" when worn)
Skirt length from waist: 26.5"
Good condition with a little bit of visible wear but still presents well:
-Hem has been altered at some point, there are to slight lines of ghost stitches about 4" up from the current hem where it looks there was previously a running stitch. The flocking is quite forgiving, so this isn't very noticeable when worn.
-Small area of pin holes to the back of the bodice, again not visible when worn, only when held to the light.
-Taffeta shows a little bit of wear. There are small areas where the colour has a slight pink tinge to the waistband and the bodice shoulders/straps are slightly more lilac than the the skirt, though this is very subtle and doesn't detract when worn. There are also areas where the flocking has rubbed off slightly, mainly to the bodice around the waist and sides.
