60s Hawaiian sun dress by "Alu Lole". Bright red with a lovely floral print in white and gold. Strappy bodice with beautifully princess seamed bust and low cut neck with thin spaghetti straps. Fitted waistband with a small piping trim and a gloriously full skirt sewn in narrow pleats. Back metal zip to fasten. Generous midi length. Fabric feels like a crisp cotton blend. Bodice is backed with a papery interfacing, skirt is unlined. Made in Hawaii.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.

The dress is labeled a size 12 but fits approx like a Small. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.

CONDITION
Good condition. Presents well but has some signs of wear and repair.
-Zip has been replaced, it's a vintage metal zip.
-Hem has been let down leaving a slight crease line at the old fold. Current hem is a very short running stitch hem.
-Some tiny signs of repair where straps attach to the bodice, very slight so doesn't detract. There are also some repairs to the back of the straps at the shoulders, see photos.
-There are a scattering of tiny scuffs in the fabric on the skirt, which has been backed by a previous owner with matching fabric and fabric adhesive. A couple of small holes which have been darned and one small machine darned section by the waist next to the zip. All in all the skirt is very full, and this hides well in the fullness and print when worn.
-A few tiny pin prick marks on the and two below waist, see photos, doesn't show much when worn.
-The interfacing fabric backing the bodice has some signs of wear and some small tears. This doesn't effect wear or show when worn.
Priced to reflect. Sounds like a lot, but presents really well when worn still.
