70s fully reversible sharply pleated Scottish wool skirt by The Scotch House. Great design in a red and dark green tartan with light blue, yellow and white lines running through it. High fitted waistband with a twosided metal zip and button to fasten. The pleats are sewn in to the upper hip using the different colours of the plaid for different effects on either side, one side a dominant red, whereas the other is a darker green and dark red. I love how versatile these are, and so easy to style both in a contemporary fashion and a more traditional preppy 50s collegiate way. Really lovely soft non-itchy wool. Great staple piece.
Skirt is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
SIZE
The skirt is labeled a vintage size 12 (label is a bit faded, but I think it says to fit a 95cm hip, which would be a 37" hip) but fits approx like a modern day Small. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model: as shown
Waist: 27" (wool is quite thick, so might best fir 26-27")
Hip: 37" (9" down from top of waistband, the point which the pleats are sewn down to)
Length: 29.5" incl 1.3" waistband
CONDITION
Very good condition. Pleats are sharp and smooth. Can only note a couple of tiny scuffs in the wool, but nothing that would be very noticeable when worn.
