Late 50s / early 60s pastel stripe dress by Peggy Page. the fun colours - yellow, mint, seafoam green, orange, purple and pale peach pink makes be think ice lollies. It's a lovely design with a high neck with a drapey cowl. Bodice is cut on the bias with diagonal striping. Waist cinches the silhouette in and the skirt is very full with stripes on the horizontal. Skirt and bodice is lined in a light silky white synthetic. Outer fabric is soft and glossy, feels like viscose possibly. Side metal zip to fasten. Perfect spring piece!
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
SIZE
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like an XS. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model: (does not zip up in waist)
Chest: approx 34" but would advice for 30-32" (the bias cut gives this a bit of slight stretch but the neck cowl fits best if it is not too stretched)
Waist: 24" (to 25" stretched - but I would think this is best suited for a 24")
Hip: free
Shoulder to natural waist: 15"
Length: 40"
(There is a 1.5" hem on this)
CONDITION
Very good condition. One of the side seams had been let out and restored back to original seam, leaving some faint ghost stitching by the waist, see photo.
